I would play it again, if setting it up on Win 10 wasn't such a hassle… FCOM (huge and incredible overhaul mod(s)) made it the most enjoyable and rewarding game ever. I poured hundreds of hours into Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim and not once finished the main quest. Like a difficult fight you won or a cool unique you found by exploring. It's the small things that make the story for you.
Here you have a giant sandbox with forgettable stories. Skyrim (like any TES game) NEEDS mods to become enjoyable. becomes obsolete quickly, but this game you play for the story, so it doesn't matter much. I'm on the same page regarding Witcher 3. As stated above I'd never touch vanilla skyrim. Also I didn't notice a significant increase in load times.Įveryone's different I guess, but I don't see anyway someone wouldn't see a heavily modded skyrim as a major improvement, unless they did it wrong. Modding pointless? Modding makes the game look better, adds even more content and fixes your complaints of it getting too easy. For ex, heavily modded Skyrim to me is fairly pointless since the game already looks great, already has tons of content, and gets to be so easy once you get going that there's little point in making your frequent load times unbearably long with tons of mods. Some games benefit from extensive mod support but i don't consider it a mandatory thing.Īnd even then, I'm just not into modded games as much as I appreciate games that are just good games.
These people develop games for people to actually play more than platforms for wannabe armchair designers/devs to mutilate.
I don't think all devs have to open up their games.
